The team of astronomers used the same HST technique to observe the little moon as they did for discovering the small moons of Pluto in 2006, 2011, and 2012. Several earlier hunts around Makemake had not succeeded in spotting it. "Our preliminary estimates show that the moon's orbit seems to be edge on, and that means that often when you look at the system you are going to miss the moon because it gets lost in the bright glare of Makemake," commented Dr. Alex Parker in an April 28, 2016 Hubble Press Release. Dr. Parker, who led the image analysis for the observations, is of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado.

The Earth is one of nine planets that form the Solar System, so called because the sun, the source of solar energy, is the central point around which all the planets revolve. So far, scientists have not been able to establish or prove the existence of life forms on any other planet within the solar system. Often, the search for other life forms has focused on looking at the climatic conditions of the celestial body in question. Scientists assume that life forms on a different planet would need similar conditions as life on earth, such as oxygen, light and water, to grow. This may or may not be true.



For example I learned that the fishing is always better during both the full and new moon phases. In other words when the moon is full or new at night, the fishing is better during the day. The same simple rules apply to the weather. When the air pressure changes in the area that you are fishing the fishes activity level changes, and thus the fish feed more heavily or less heavily. Learning the simple ways in which the weather and moon impact fish behavior taught me how to be on the water fishing at the most opportune times, rather than just going fishing whenever I could.



Indeed, the mixture of nitrogen and methane that whirl around in Titan's swirling thick golden-orange atmosphere create a variety of organic compounds. It has been suggested that the heaviest materials float down to the surface of this hydrocarbon-slashed moon. When these organic compounds tumble down into Titan's lakes and seas--either by raining down from the clouds in alien showers of hydrocarbons, or by traveling along with Titan's strange rivers--some are dissolved in the liquid methane. The compounds that manage to survive this ordeal, and do not dissolve (such as nitrites and benzene), float down to the alien sea floors of this oddball moon-world.
